The candidate for this position will be hands-on in developing, optimizing and applying a variety of analytical MS and LC-MS techniques for glycoprotein and glycan characterization utilizing new, leading-edge Ion Trap, MALDI/ESI TOF mass spectrometers. The candidate will generate, analyze and interpret data and then prepare reports and standard operating procedures, as appropriate.

The candidate must have education/experience in biological sciences, protein chemistry, or biochemistry with focus in glycoprotein/glycan characterization utilizing mass spectrometry:

• MS with 5+ years of experience, or
• PhD with 2+ year(s) of industry experience.

Hands-on experience with the analysis of glycoproteins and more specifically, with the structural characterization of N- and O-linked glycans by means of mass spectrometry and other applicable analytical techniques is a must.

Other requirements: The candidate must possess excellent communication and writing skills and be highly knowledgeable of standard MS software and statistical analysis programs. Ability to excel with multiple projects simultaneously and lead projects to closure. Strong leadership skills along with a sense of urgency and ability to work under tight deadlines.
